I'm sure you've heard a lot about organic, natural skincare and you thought that you should try it yourself…. But where to start? Switching to natural is much easier than you think. Today the beauty industry is full of beautiful (and I am not talking about packaging) products that are good for your skin and environment. And there are plenty of options for vegans too!
Why should you switch?
Simply because you can! The same way you prefer to cook using fresh raw ingredients rather than buying a highly processed ready meal full of nasties.
By switching to organic, natural beauty, you will be sure that your skin is getting the best treatment.
You don't have to throw away everything you have on your "beauty shelf" and start from scratch. Start slowly… once you finish your current face cream (which is probably full of water and alcohol), try to switch to plant-based facial oil instead. Facial oils work as a barrier on your skin. When applied correctly, they can reach very deep into your skin, moisturise it and prevent water loss.
The next item on the list should be the face cleanser. The commercial products are usually filled with water, mineral oil and alcohol, which can make your skin dry and dull. Look for the cleanser made of plant-based butters and oils. Our Cleansing Face Balm also contains green clay which has a fantastic cleansing and detoxifying properties.
Know your ingredients - how to read beauty labels.
I know that this is not an easy task to be able to read the beauty ingredient lists (it is much easier with food). However, the good news is that most of the natural beauty brands highlight their genuine botanical ingredients that are inside their little (and big) jars.
However, be careful as sometimes brands use slogans just for marketing purposes and they might not be necessarily true (unfortunately the regulations on this are a bit loose). The one thing you can always trust is the ingredients list (inci) which should always truly reflect what is inside your product.
At WILDREE SKINCARE, we use superfoods and other plant-based ingredients that come from nature, not lab. You will be able to easily recognise what's in your product.
Natural products have different colours and textures to your commercial products. They are not always as consistent, and it might take a bit of getting used to them. But give it a go your skin will thank you for it!
